New Television Series Spotlight: "Nashville" Premieres Tonight on ABC

I admit it. I love Connie Britton. She portrayed by favorite character on Friday Night Lights, Tami Taylor, for five seasons and deserved to multiple Emmy awards, but was always overlooked. Britton also starred in the first season of American Horror Story, which is another one of my favorite series. Now she has moved on to Nashville, where she not only acts, but showcases her singing talents, too. Britton portrays Rayna James, a country music legend, whose star is beginning to flicker. As a result, her manager suggests that she tour with the much younger Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere), who is immensely popular, in order to give Rayna more visibility. That just spells conflict. Music will, of course, play a major part in the series and the songs are being readied for release, which is a positive sign.

Nashville premiers tonight at 10:00pm, on ABC. I predict it will be the highest rated new drama series of the new television season.
