Television Spotlight: "666 Park Avenue"

From a ratings perspective, 666 Park Avenue has been under performing in its 10:00pm Sunday time slot, coming in third, after Sunday Night Football on NBC and The Mentalist on CBS. Regardless, I hope ABC decides to stick with the series because I have enjoyed what I have seen so far. In fact, 666 Park Avenue is my favorite new series of the 2012-2013 season. I suspect that after football season ends, the series will see a ratings increase from the male demographic who are now watching sports. It will also help when CBS does not have to time shift its programming on Sundays due to football overruns. Overall, ABC should see ratings increase for its entire lineup come January, if it is still intact.

666 Park Avenue features a strong ensemble cast that includes Terry O'Quinn, Vanessa Williams, Rachael Taylor and Dave Annable. The horror elements have been well executed, but are not too scary for network television. In addition, the set design, music and special effects are all outstanding. If ABC does decide to cancel the series, I hope it may find new life on cable, perhaps on TNT or Syfy. 666 Park Avenue too good an idea and too strong of an effort to abandon altogether.
