Bart Simpson Big Shot! (Harper Design) is a recently released trade paperback featuring characters from the long running television series The Simpsons, created by Matt Groening. Stories from five Bart Simpson comics (47, 49, 50, 51 and 52) and The Simpsons Summer Shindig #1 are included in the trade paperback. Bart takes center stage throughout, of course, but interludes feature Li'l Krusty and Maggie's Crib, which is written and drawn by comic book legend Sergio Aragonés.
Readers familiar with The Simpsons television series are treated to the trademark sight gags in this effort that are a staple of the series, including one featuring The White House vegetable garden that is laugh out loud funny. The principal stories feature a spoof of Stephen King's Children of the Corn, entitled Children Off the Cob, which has some insightful thoughts about ethanol, and Bart's Last Day of Summer Vacation, which is particularly difficult for Marge, but offers several amusing moments, nonetheless.
Fourteen stories and the aforementioned interludes encompass nearly 130 pages of full color fun in Bart Simpson Big Shot! Fans of the television series will likely enjoy this effort, which also features Homer, Maggie and Lisa Simpson, as well as Milhouse, Professor Frink and Mr. Burns. Oh, and donuts also make an appearance, much to Homer's delight.
